Through the municipal solid waste program, Cranberry Township provides weekly curbside trash and recycling collection services to most Township homes. Yard waste services are offered weekly from March to December. Two weeks are set aside in January for Christmas tree pickup.

Program Highlights

Cardboard Compactor at the Municipal Center

The Township’s commercial-strength cardboard compactor can handle residential cardboard carton waste. Located at the Municipal Center, the self-service machine is intended for Township resident use only. Learn more.

Rack Program

Cranberry’s rack program provides a trash rack, a recycling rack, and two bags for each to make cleanup a little calmer. There is a limit of two sets per rental.

Racks are free to use and can be picked up at the Township Public Works Facility from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Racks must be returned within three days after the event to avoid a $25 fee being added to the monthly utility bill. Borrowers must dispose of the trash themselves. Each bag that does not fit into a trash bin requires an extra bag collection sticker, which can be purchased through Customer Service. Recycling items should be put into the clear bags furnished by the Township and placed curbside on collection day.

Holiday Schedule

No collections are made when these holidays occur on a weekday: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.

There is no schedule change if the holiday falls on a weekend, regardless of when the holiday is observed.

If a collection day is:
ON OR AFTER a weekday holiday, collection will be 1 day later.
BEFORE a weekday holiday, there will be no change in pick up.
