A public hearing focused on the creation of a new Municipal Authority will be held at the Board’s Agenda Preparation Meeting in Cranberry Township Council Chambers beginning at 6:30 on Wednesday, February 26. The new entity, which will be housed in the Municipal Center, will help position Cranberry to take advantage of new funding opportunities recently authorized by the General Assembly – opportunities which are only available to municipal authorities. The new authority’s mission would focus on finances rather than actual field operations. At its January 6 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors authorized advertising the hearing date.
